Rare opportunity to acquire two key rifles from Turkish service history, offered together as a matched pair:
Turkish Model 1938 Mauser
The standard Turkish service rifle of the mid-20th century, chambered in 7.92×57mm (8mm Mauser). Arsenal-rebuilt and representative of Turkey’s modernization program. Solid bore, clean action, typical arsenal stock repairs, with strong markings.
Turkish Gewehr 88/05/35 (Ankara Conversion)
Originally a German Commission Rifle (Spandau 1890s production), later upgraded to 88/05 spec (stripper clip guide, S-Patrone chamber) and rebuilt at Ankara in the 1930s. Features Turkish crescent stampings and Arabic numerals, showing its dual German–Ottoman/Turkish service lineage. Bore and metal in good surplus condition, stock shows expected service wear.
Highlights for collectors:
Both rifles chambered in 8mm Mauser – historically matched and display well together.
Together they represent the transition from Germany’s Gewehr 88 through Turkey’s modernization into the M38 Mauser.
Harder to find as a set; both rifles are marked, complete, and in sound surplus condition.
Offered only as a pair.
PAL required (Canada).
Local pickup preferred; shipping available at buyer’s expense.
Asking price: $1,900 (for both) OBO.
