Another user here who knows guns said this after I sent more pictures:
"It looks like it started its life as a VZ24...but got a different bolt, drilled the crest and barrel has been modified and original sights are missing."
- So it has sights but apparently not the original
- The drilled crest is for a scope if needed
- The modified barrel would mean it was shortened
- I don't know what wood it is
This was my father's rifle and he said it was from WW2.
