This Is A Classic Mauser Rifle (M98 Mauser Action) With A Very Smooth Action. The bore is in excellent condition, and the rifle shoots very well. Open Sights Are Still In Place. I Am Downsizing My Collection, And This Rifle Is Located In Scotch Creek, BC. The rifle features a very nice custom full-length stock with a raised cheek piece, which shows some handling marks. The barrel length is 24 ½ inches, and the overall condition is rated at 8/10.
The cartridge is known as 7.92x57 and 8mm (most commonly referred to as 8mm Mauser or 8x57). Both designations refer to the same cartridge, with "7.92x57" being the military metric designation used by Germany, while "8mm" is the shorthand name most widely used by civilian shooters in North America.
