The Ruger 10/22 action is always hold down to the stock by 1 screw putting tension on barrel and stock. Ruger producer knows that there is a problem, so they separated regular 10/22 and built a separate, specialized unit they call Custom Ruger 10/22.

They come up with a separate metal piece that is screw to the relatively normal 10/22 receiver and from this piece they provided additional screw to hold down the receiver to the stock.
I study semi-auto Rugers and I thougth it must be a better way to do the same thing without adding outside of receiver any component.
I bought a bunch of used Rugers 10/22 from the Gunpost, modified them and wrote application for a patent. Now, they are modified, working as they should. Patent-pending.
Usually this kind of prototypes are hold in the safe or destroyed, but I figured that somebody can have a trophy, talk with their gunsmith.
I have some left modified 10/22 Rugers and I do not need them anymore, they are in excellent working condition and somebody can have and use them. They have a big potential for heavy barrel or just free floating barrel.
