This is an original Australian Heavy Barrelled Lee Enfield. What is remarkable is the bore is excellent. The barrel is dated 1944, the receiver 1941, serial matching. A string of Australian star stamps are present.
I’m not sure if the butt is correct or not, as soon as I find my Skennerton book I will look it up.
