Offered here is an original British Martini-Henry rifle of late production pattern, chambered for the .577/.450 Martini-Henry cartridge, featuring the classic single-shot falling-block action.

The rifle displays characteristics consistent with late-period Martini-Henry service configuration, including later-pattern sights, receiver machining, and furniture typical of rifles produced or refurbished during the final service years of the Martini-Henry system.

A stamped marking “88 / 348” is present at the barrel breech, representing a late 19th-century inspection or batch-related marking. In addition, a clearly applied “Punjab” arsenal stamp dated 1896 confirms subsequent colonial arsenal re-inspection during service.

British military inspection and acceptance marks, including Crown and Broad Arrow stamps, are visible on the metal components, indicating original British manufacture and official military acceptance prior to colonial service.

The rifle retains its full-length barrel, bayonet lug, barrel bands, sling swivels, and original cleaning rod, all consistent with a standard British military configuration of the period. Multiple inspection stamps remain visible on the metalwork.

The bore is in excellent condition, appearing bright and reflective with strong, well-defined rifling.

A well-preserved example of a late Victorian British service Martini-Henry rifle, later inspected at Punjab Arsenal in 1896, representing the final phase of Martini-Henry military service.
