Offered here is a highly collectible Walther K43 (G43) semi-automatic rifle chambered in 8×57mm IS (8mm Mauser), manufactured during World War II.

This example retains matching receiver and gas system components (34**), a highly desirable feature as gas system parts were frequently replaced during military service and post-war refurbishment. The receiver is also marked with the East German Volkspolizei (VOPO) sunburst acceptance mark, documenting its authentic post-war East German service history.

The bolt assembly has been inspected internally. Two original serialized bolt components remain matching to the rifle, while one additional bolt component is a period arsenal force-match. The bolt assembly is complete and functions correctly.

The rifle includes an original K43 magazine (non-serialized). The dust cover is missing, although replacements remain readily available and were never serial numbered.

The bore is excellent, with a bright finish and strong, sharp rifling. The wood stock is solid and stable with honest military handling wear, while the metal finish remains in very good collector condition.

Our shop has test fired this rifle using reduced-pressure handloaded ammunition, and it functioned reliably during testing. Due to the design of the K43 gas system, we recommend using reduced-pressure or collector-friendly 8×57mm ammunition to help preserve this historic rifle.
