Offered here is an original Japanese Type 99 Arisaka rifle chambered in 7.7×58mm Arisaka, manufactured by the Nagoya Arsenal during the Second World War.
This is an all-matching example, retaining matching serial numbers on the receiver, bolt body, extractor, firing pin, safety knob, and front barrel band/bayonet lug assembly.
A particularly desirable feature is the retention of its original dust cover, an accessory commonly removed and discarded during military service. The dust cover serial has become heavily worn through decades of use and is no longer fully legible; however, the first digit "6" remains faintly visible, consistent with the rifle's other matching components numbered 640, and the wear pattern strongly supports it as the rifle's original matching dust cover.
The rifle is not fitted with its original cleaning rod or anti-aircraft (AA) sight wings. The Imperial Chrysanthemum (Mum) has been arsenal-ground, with faint traces still visible.
The wood stock is solid and retains its original military configuration, showing no obvious evidence of later sanding or refinishing. The metal finish remains original, with honest service wear and no apparent signs of rebluing.
The bore is bright with strong, well-defined rifling and shows normal service wear while remaining in good overall condition.
Overall, this is a highly original all-matching Type 99 Arisaka with an uncommon original dust cover, making it an increasingly difficult configuration to find and an excellent addition to any Imperial Japanese military firearms collection.
