Will ship if necessary. If GTA local sale, you will have to pick up from the west side of Mississauga. Open to trades or money+trade. See below for possible options. I will obviously prefer face-to-face but will ship if you say please.

This is the 6.5×58mm unconverted Mauser-Vergueiro; with the Portuguese colonial DMGLM stamps on the stock. Manufactured by Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken Berlin. The receiver and barrel have matching serials, nearly everything else is non-matching. Vergueiro bayonet is non-matching.

It is in quite good condition for something that served in Africa for many decades. There is a bit of pitting on the receiver at the wood line, a patch of shallow pitting on the underside of the barrel exterior. See photos. The bore may have a bit of pitting near the chamber but I can't see too well. I received it heavily greased for long storage, had to clean it. The barrel band is slightly loose, needs the spring part cleaned up but I don't want to mess with it.

I can't speak to its firing condition because the ammunition is very rare and difficult to fabricate. It should be considered a collector's piece rather than a shooter.

Some possible trade ideas:

  • 12 gauge Rem870, Mossberg500/590, JC Higgins/HighStandard, Winchester1200/1300, Ithaca37, Maverick88, with riot/cruiser length barrel
  • 12 gauge Rem870, Winchester 12, Ithaca37 field length barrel
  • Benelli Nova/Supernova tactical
  • Lower/mid quality .22lr/.22WMR, bolt-action, North America manufacture
  • Non-takedown lever guns, .22/pistol cartridges/.30-30,410 bore Henry/Winchester/Rossi/Marlin/Uberti
  • new clones of classic riot/trench 12 gauge pump-actions.
  • coach gun, 12/20/410 gauge
  • maybe a modern Benelli M3/M4 clone, EGE or Canuck
  • Thompson Center or Traditions hawken/plains rifle, percussion
  • Not an exhaustive list. If you have something else to offer you might as well message me and try me. I am generally interested in 20th century manually repeating civilian firearms. If you have one gun I'm really into, the rest of the value can be made up by nearly anything else.
