Spanish Mauser 1916 7.62x51mm NATO Short Rifle with Bayonet

Very cool handy military surplus rifle in a cheap easy to find calibre. These were built to be chambered in 7.62x51 at the historic Fabrica de Armas de Oviedo. They were still used by the Spanish police and Guardia Civil up to the 1970 to 1980 before they were retired and sold as surplus. Lots of history in this rifle.

I’ve never shot it, but it was professionally appraised when sold to me and here was the findings:

• Wood stock shows scratches, scuffs, dents, finish wear; condition is good for age.
  
  Metal finish shows patina, scratches, scuffs, finish wear areas, few light rust spots; condition is good for age.
  
  Bore is shiny, smooth with good rifling.
