WINCHESTER 1894 Pre 64. French

Here we have a rare 1894 30 WCF Winchester ordered by Remington for the French army in WWI

These are the only Winchesters ever made with metric sifts and side sling swivels. A French custom order. 
They ordered them with Gumwood stocks to avoid rot in the tropics. 

This one has seen combat for sure. 
The headspace is off and the landing gate touches the lifter so you need to push the lifter down wth your pinky to get the gate open to load. 
BUT, don’t ry firing this until you see a Smith or do your work. The head space is off. 

Selling AS IS. 

Would be a  rewarding do it yourself project. 

Embedde in the stock is a military medal. Ever so slightly magnetic to a very powerful magnet. 
I’m guessing silver copper mix.
