NO TRADES. 1958 manufactured Marlin 336 sold under the JC Higgins brand as a model 45 in .35 Rem. 20 inch barrel has an excellent bore and factory sights. The rear barrel sight is missing the elevator. A Williams peep sight is mounted, and the receiver is factory drilled and tapped for scope mounting. The rifle is accurate and shoots and functions A1. Metal looks to have been professionally hot blued at some point and looks good. If you look closely there is evidence of pitting on the receiver right lower that was cleaned up. Wood is good with no cracks, but someone has way over sanded the butt stock at the tang area as shown in pics. 10 years ago I would tinker away and lay in walnut pieces with matched grain and epoxy to rebuild it - but not these days. I have sourced a new walnut Marlin butt stock pictured which will need very minor fitting to bolt up. If you want the new butt stock add $150 on top of the rifle price (my cost). $1000 FIRM PLUS ACTUAL SHIPPING ($1150 PLUS IF INCLUDING THE NEW STOCK). PAL will be validated online with the CFC. Local pick up may be possible in Oshawa at the 401.
