NO TRADES. The Remington Sportsman 78 was the economy version of the Remington 700 without the engine turned bolt, without the high polish bluing, and without the walnut stock. This one sits in a synthetic stock, and has the bonus of a removable magazine conversion which works very well. 22 inch barrel has an excellent bore, and is drilled and tapped for sights - no sights are included. Bluing is very good with minimal hunting wear. Bluing on the bolt shows the rifle has not seen much use. Weaver bases are mounted. Synthetic stock has a solid feel to it. Some gunsmiths say the receiver retooling Remington did for the model 78 from 1984-1988 had closer tolerances than the model 700 rifles at the time.
