This is a rare Germany Mauser DSM 34 training rifle built pre WWII. Germany was allowed to produce only sporting rifles after WWI so they introduced the .22 military trainer under the name of “Deutsche Sportmodell”. The contract was distributed to different manufactures and into production in 1934. It’s a miniature Mauser 98K configuration with .22 LR single shot action. Comes with same side mount sling, firing pin take down disc and same style bolt with Mauser K98K. Cleaning rod is screwed into the wood stock. These rifles were distributed to Hitler Youth, militia and private purchase. They bear only factory proof markings, no military stamps to dodge restriction from Treaty of Versailles.
This rifle is in good used condition, receiver marked JGA indicating it was built by Anschutz. Receiver and barrel matches while bolt has a different number. Some patina on the buttplate, blue finish elsewhere is in good condition. No rust or pitting. Wood also in good condition. One possible repaired crack at the wrist. It’s not very noticeable and I am pretty sure it will not affect shooting since it’s just a 22 single shot. Action works great. Bore is shining and sharp like new. See Flicker album for all details. Very rare seen German trainer rifle also a sample of special historic era. Asking $1800, shipping on buyer if needed.
