**Description:**

Up for sale is an exceptional piece of WWII and Cold War military history: an original German Karabiner 98k manufactured in 1939 by **Mauser-Werke AG, Borsigwalde (Code 243)**, later converted post-war by Norway into an **M98k-F1** for the Army (**HÆR**).

Norwegian M98k-F1 conversions are widely considered the highest quality military Mauser rebuilds ever produced, performed by the legendary Kongsberg Våpenfabrikk armory.

**Highlights & Provenance:**

 * **Receiver & Markings:** Early, highly desirable 1939 pre-war production with deeply crisp, original Nazi *WaA63* Waffenamt inspection proofs intact.

 * **Norwegian Army Issue:** Left side flat clean-milled and crisp-stamped **HÆR - 40138**.

 * **Caliber:** Re-barreled by Kongsberg to **.30-06 Springfield** (KAL 7.62 M/M), offering an outstanding shooter experience with widely available, cost-effective ammunition compared to original 8mm.

 * **Wood & Metal:** Clean laminate stock with original metal hardware, correct receiver clearance relief, and smooth finish with honest historical patina.

 * **Condition:** Excellent overall mechanical and cosmetic condition.

An exceptional collector-grade shooter that bridges early WWII German industrial manufacturing with Cold War Scandinavian history.
