Savage Model 1911 Youth Rifle

Up for grabs is a rare Savage youth rifle. It is a tube fed, through the butt stock, Y shaped system that holds 20  .22 shorts, LOW VELOCITY ONLY! I have shot this little rifle and it works as it should.

Its about the size if not smaller and lighter than the Cricket youth. As seen in the Pictures the stock has some dark dots. These are little square nails or tacs that were used to repair this little fragile walnut stock. It also appears to have been refinished at some time in its life. The first pic describes what it is.

It has a take down screw and comes apart easily.

The bluing is faded to that antique patina, no live rust or pitting, rifling is very decent, and it`s a pretty accurate shooter at 25yards. The rear sight has a rudimentary screw for elevation, and the bolt is tiny....

As seen in the butt plate picture, this shows it is an early production rifle as the tube door has a recessed square area; later ones don`t have this feature. These were only made for a couple yrs if not 1.

If you collect old youth rifles this would be an excellent addition. I`ve seen others with near perfect stocks and they fetch far more than I`m asking, and those examples are nearly made of unatanium.
