Made in far smaller numbers than the BSA, Greener etc. falling block Martini rimfire target arms the Vickers were considered to be slightly more refined and accurate. Trigger mechanisms are better, and the unusual one piece receiver/barrel ensures perfect stiffness so increased accuracy. This is from the late '20s or early '30s. It has a 30" heavy barrel and the very rigid, expensive 'Perfection' peep sight. Bore is excellent and still a first class shooter. Bluing is worn but not as badly as you'd expect. These stocks were quite thin around the action and most that you find have been cracked there and repaired. This one is no exception. It is perfectly stable and functions perfectly.
Barrelled action can be removed from the wood by means of simple screws underneath, marketed 100 years ago as a 'takedown' system which guaranteed accuracy because barrel and action were never disconnected.
I have enough Martinis to last me the rest of my sentence, so will let this one go for just $595 plus shipping from eastern Ont.
