Husqvarna 1640 - .30-06 Springfield - 1965
If you know Husqvarna rifles, you already know what this is.
A genuine Swedish-made 1640 from one of the most desirable production years, built on the HVA small-ring controlled-round-feed Mauser action. The sought-after 1965 FN-style hybrid combines flawless feeding, smooth bolt travel, excellent balance, and the kind of machining quality that simply isn't found in modern production hunting rifles.
This is a rifle from an era when manufacturers competed on craftsmanship, not cost-cutting.
Features the original factory stock with cross-bolt reinforcement, a clean bright bore, strong rifling, great original bluing, tight lock-up, and remarkably smooth cycling. It has seen very little use and remains exactly what serious hunters and collectors want to find: an honest, well-preserved rifle that hasn't been abused, butchered, or turned into a project.
Upgraded with a new Hubert trigger ($249 value), currently set as a crisp two-stage with a glass-rod break. Factory trigger is also included.
The correct 24" medium sporter barrel delivers the balance Husqvarna became famous for: steady enough to shoot well, light enough to carry all day. Chambered in .30-06 Springfield, still one of the most versatile and proven hunting cartridges ever developed.
These rifles have developed a loyal following for a reason. They carry like a featherweight, feed like a Mauser should, and possess a level of fit, finish, and mechanical quality that would be extraordinarily expensive to reproduce today.
Finding a Husqvarna 1640 isn't difficult.
Finding a 1965 example with all original bluing, a clean bore, strong rifling, premium trigger upgrade, and very little use is another story entirely.
