Enfield No 8 Mk 1 .22LR rifle

The Enfield No 8 Mk 1 .22LR rifle is a classic, bolt-action .22LR training and competition rifle, essentially a heavy-barrel, single-shot version of the Lee-Enfield action, built for accuracy by adapting receivers from No.4/No.5 rifles, popular with UK/Commonwealth cadet forces post-WWII, and known for robust construction and good target shooting performance before being phased out for modern rifles. The No. 8 Mk 1 is a respected piece of military small arms history, valued for its sturdy build and accuracy, representing a significant era in Commonwealth cadet training. The standard rear sight has been replaced with Parker Hale PH5C peep  sight and the front sight with a Lyman 17 A Globe Front Target Sight with incerts. This rifle would have been used to train new recruits in all aspects of marksmanship and general handling skills of a bolt action rifle prior to leaving for active service during WWII.    $1800
