Custom Mauser 98 with Ajack 4x90 scope

Very nice M98 in 8x57JS.

Made by H. keiling, Aschaffenburg in the 50’s from a refurbished military action.

German proof marked on june 23, 1955, if my reading of markings is right.

Made with a new barrel, not a cut down stepped profile military barrel.  Barrel is in perfect condition.

Wood in perfect condition.

Action is in very good condition, shows cleaned off pitting in not visible parts that was cleaned when refurbished.  You can see some when the bolt is removed and under the receiver when removed from the stock.  Absolutely no live rust.

I have not fired it, it cycles rounds as it should.

No markings left from the military past.

One very interesting feature is the scope.  It is a german Ajack 4x90.  These scopes were used on some german sniper rifles during WWII and on swedish M96 snipers too.

Has this one been used on a nazi sniper rifle?   According to the infos I got this one would be a commercial made post-war scope. So probably not.

Scope is in very nice condition, nice patina, works perfectly and clear optics.  Comes with soldered claw mounts.  Please see my other ad for more photos of the scope. 

Has see through mounts so you can still use iron sights.

I can sell the rifle alone without scope only if the scope sells first.

I was planning on using it as a vintage deer rifle, but changed my mind, would’n want to damage it in the woods.
