The metal has a brownish patina and there were 4 tapped holes in left side of receiver for a side scope mount, I filled in the hole with JB Weld. The stock was damaged a bit where it fastened to the receiver due to over oiling I think. I spent many hours removing some of the bad wood and used JB Weld to make a solid surface to mate to the receiver. I also refinished the stock with hand rubbed tung oil. I made a new butt plate of hard industrial poly material . It actually works well and there is no movement at all between receiver and stock. I disassembled it and cleaned it and put it back together, quite a tricky process but I found and kept a good itemized list of what you need to do, I never would have been able to do it myself and I have worked on a lot of guns.
Shoots well and works flawlessly and I shoot it often. It is a takedown and would make a nice survival gun.
