Yugoslavian M48 Sniper Rifle

Good afternoon, for sale is my Yugoslavian M48 sniper rifle. It’s in excellent condition, and comes with all original military kit. 

This is a unique one, it’s part of a batch of 4000 trial rifles produced by Zastava Arms Serbia (Kragujevac Arsenal 44) on a 1950-1952 M48, and saw use during the Bosnian Conflict. As such, its sometimes referred to as a “Bosnian sniper”.

However, the common “Bosnian Sniper” is a piece-together, either by a unit in combat with the gear supplied to them, or, more likely, after import by a shop to be sold as a Reproduction Bosnian Sniper. These account for 99.999% of all “Bosnian Snipers”. (See collector source for an example of a reproduction)

This is not a piece together kit, but one of the batch of 4000.

There are a few subtle differences to look for to discern between a real/fake Bosnian Sniper. They are as follows:

- Black or darkened bolt, screws, sights, receiver, etc. this was done to keep reflections to a minimum, instead of using the shiny standard M48 finish.

- All genuine Bosnian Snipers are built on a milled M48, NOT a stamped M48A receiver.

- Genuine Bosnian Snipers do not have markings, or they are crossed out, on the left side of the receiver. 

- Solder under the rear scope base. This is the easiest piece to miss. Kragujevac arsenal had a hard time keeping zero with the ZRAK scope mounts, so the rear base has a small amount of silver solder applied during production underneath it. (See picture #3)

- The rifle is numbers-matching.

Included in the package is the gun itself, original sling and scope/action cover, along with the issued ZRAK ON-M76B scope and corresponding ZRAK mounts.
