Thinning out my collection, up goes this fine specimen.
Manufactured by Lithgow 1914, bolt matches receiver but other numbers do not. This rifle has C Broad arrows on the barrel, receiver and right side of the butt stock indicating Canadian Military Ownership. Receiver ring marked 2ND MD (New South Wales), Knoxform has BSA logo, indicating conversion by BSA. Rear tangent sight has been removed (sight tension spring still present) and Cooey 10A rear peep sight has been installed. The Cooey mount has C Broad arrow stamps which indicates the target sight was mounted by the Canadian government. Wood is in decent shape, rear top handguard has minor chip. Right side of stock has several markings including; "RMA 6/46", "IIV" inside a 4 pointed star, and "M ATKINSON" on the top of the wrist. Magazine is a standard .303, non serialized and features tensioning spring indicating early style. Middle barrel band is brass and stamped "OA", standard nose cap with bayonet lug. Both sling swivels are present. Overall metal condition is good, blueing is present with normal wear on the edges. Bore is near perfect, coupled with the target sight thill will be an exceptionally accurate rifle with the right ammo.
Looking to get $1,850 shipped to your door with $100 insurance. Interesting trades are welcome, WWI specific rifles preferred.
