Howdy Gunpost! I've got an awesome little custom 12 Gauge cylinder bore single shot for sale here. This is a very nice condition Cooey Model 84 with a nicely dark stained walnut bird's-head or "hog-leg" grip and forearm. The metal condition is excellent with excellent case colour hardening all over the receiver, hammer, trigger and trigger guard. The bluing is excellent and the muzzle is smooth and perpendicular to the barrel.
Oh, and it's a non restricted Sawed-Off shotgun!
This is a custom job done by an friend of mine. It's still a non-restricted shotgun sitting at 26.5"/ 673mm in overall length;(the legal minimum length is 26"/660mm). And the barrel was cut down to 18.5"/ 470mm; (the legal minimum length you can cut a barrel down is 18"/457mm). So in summary it's all perfectly legal and fine to go out and use in a lawful manner.
The work put into making one of these is surprisingly involved if you wanted to make it nice like this one is. Measuring, cutting and hand filing the barrel square and clean is required. The existing stock bolt must be shortened or replaced and fitted to work in the grip, and be tight against the receiver. Otherwise it would protrude out the back. Measuring, cutting, shaping the wood. And the final touches of nicely refinishing the wood and adding swing swivels, a sling and putting a rubber plug in the stock bolt hole is done at the end.
I think these shotguns make great hiking, camping, backpacking, fishing or horseback riding guns to take along with you. It's reasonably light sitting at 4lbs 11oz/ 2.13 Kilos and sits on the shoulder in the sling very comfortably. So quite light but not as light as a Turkish made aluminum alloy receiver, polymer stocked cheapo special. This is a forged steel, American black walnut stocked, Canadian manufactured shotgun that was made in Cobourg, Ontario between 1948-1967, my best guess is 1955-57 on this particular example. Back when things were built to last with quality materials and workmanship.
So if you're looking for a utilitarian, portable and capable firearm for outdoor activities or farm work. Or just want a Mad Max-esque, badass range toy blaster to shoot some 2 3/4 buckshot or slugs out of and make some watermelons explode, this is the shotgun for you!
Payment can be made to me by either Cash, E-transfer or a personal cheque. The cheque must clear and I will retain the shotgun for 5 business days after the cheque is deposited before releasing the shotgun to the buyer.
PAL will be verified.
