Ithaca Model 37 Featherlight 12 gauge - Vintage and Rare Engraved Fleur De Lis forend and stock - made between 1950-53

IIthaca 37 Featherlight - 12 gauge  - got from auction and has uncommon fleur de lis design carved into stock and forend.

I have an OTHER very similar gun, odd and wonderful, in 12 gauge 1950s Ithaca 37, with the “U.S.” stamp on receiver and heatshield. Heatshield is vintage (with bayonet lug) but was clearly put on after the consumer version was first created, something which Ithaca did to fulfill government contracts consistently. But Heatshield seems to be made for a barrel 2-4 inches shorter. It just means that it doesn’t cover first few inches of barrel but fits perfectly at end with lug. I bought from Switzer’s auction and they labelled it as “trench/riot style” - I can send you full description from original listing. Contact me if you’re interested. 

Back to the Ithaca on sale in this ad, it Dates from 1950-1953 according to my research on Ithaca’s website. In good condition given age, I’ve cleaned up a bit since the pictures with a bit of cleaning oil (light) and a very light wax to protect it. You can have it professionally done - but this will ensure it stays in current state if handled properly and don’t want to detract from authentic condition for collectors. Buyer can decide what to do.

I’ve cleaned and lightly oiled (with rust protection the receiver with “G-96 complete gun treatment”.

Original buttpad and rare and fantastic “Ithaca” cap on bottom of stock handle. Works very well given its approx 70 years old, and while you wouldn’t make it your main hunting gun - it’s a beautiful collector that you can reliably bring on a hunt. 

As collectors know, the Ithaca model 37 is consistently one of the top 10 of the greatest pump shotguns of the last 100 years (multiple lists - check for yourself).

Bore is excellent, wear and marks associated with age but no cracks in stock/receiver/forend - superficial marks only as you can see in pics. 25.5 inch barrel.
