Only one magazine put through this gun to test function, then has been stored. Note the beautiful depth of the bluing, and let me tell you that it functions flawlessly (as should be expected from the famous Mossberg 500 series). Originally bought it to keep in the trailer but our trailer is too low on storage space. Lots of room in the waterproof storage tube to also store a bandolier with a variety of shells for any survival situation (bear banger, 00 buck, slug, birdshot, etc). You can have a whole kit in this one tube.
The Mossberg 500 series has a skeletonized shell elevator as well, allowing it to fit the Opsol Mini Clip that enables the gun to reliably chamber and fire 1” mini shells (slug and 00 buck options available). This increases your mag capacity to something like 8+1 and the recoil is drastically reduced.
