ECWCS GEN III Level 6 Jacket MultiCam Size: Large Regular Spec Ops Contract Unissued New Condition

The jacket is in unissued NOS condition.

This is a rare early Crye Precision MultiCam® pattern ECWCS Level 6 Jacket from 2007. This was prior to MultiCam® being adopted as a USGI pattern as the OEF-CP which was later replaced by OCP.

Because MultiCam was not yet a standard-issue pattern for conventional U.S. troops in 2007 (they were largely wearing the pixelated gray Universal Camouflage Pattern), an officially issued Propper produced MultiCam® item from 2007 would have bypassed standard general issue. 

It was primarily used by Special Operations Forces (SOF) and specialized units operating under USSOCOM (United States Special Operations Command).

The elite units and special forces branches this jacket was intended for use by was most likely one of the following branches:

• U.S. Army Special Forces (The "Green Berets"): This is the single most likely group to have used your item. Operational Detachment Alphas (ODAs) in Afghanistan were among the earliest and most prolific adopters of MultiCam. They heavily relied on unit-level commercial procurement funds to buy Propper and Crye gear because UCP was failing them in the arid, mountainous terrain. 
• 75th Ranger Regiment: In early 2007, the Rangers actively used MultiCam gear for testing next-generation gear platforms (like the Future Force Warrior trials). Individual Rangers deploying to Afghanistan also frequently integrated MultiCam pouches, combat shirts, and trousers into their loadouts.
• U.S. Air Force Special Tactics (AFSOC): Combat Control Teams (CCTs) and Pararescuemen (PJs) frequently embedded with Army Green Berets. To maintain visual uniformity with the SF teams they supported, these Air Force operators were widely permitted to procure and wear MultiCam uniforms and equipment.
• Navy SEALs (NSWG): While SEALs were transitioning toward AOR1/AOR2 digital patterns around this time, certain individual operators and support teams deployed to specific joint-agency environments in the Middle East utilized MultiCam items.
