Wow, what can I say. Had a gun at a show and he looked at it, a week later said he wanted it, so I drove out to his place and showed it to him. He looked at it for over an hour and decided to buy it. He was aware, and I told him it wasn't a wall hanger and had been used for hunting moose. He saw the bump on the stock, which I pointed out, as well as some light (minimal) areas where the bluing had worn off. I had not noticed the very slight chip out at the edge of the stock by the end of the bolt. Neither did and we both racked the bolt a number of times, removed it and checked the barrel and re-installed it - with neither of us noticing it, shows how minor it was. As a local sale, I gave him a box of ammo with the gum.
Subsequently, he called me. Said the gun was not as I described (but he examined it extensively at the time), the ammo was not match grade (what the heck?), and there was bluing off the stock (which he had already seen an agreed was minimal), and had the tiny chip that neither of us had seen before, with the demand that he wanted all his money back! I replied, he had ample opportunity to examine the gun, and the decision to buy it had been his. There never was promise, either stated or implied after the sale, and government transfer process had been completed, to take back the gun if he later decided to change his mind.
Very professional yet personable to deal with. Made decisive decision on buying and was straight forward to deal with. Payment was prompt. Gave feedback when received item. Overall excellent transaction and look forward to dealing with him again.
It was a total pleasure to meet Rob. It was as if I'm at an old friend. Our transaction was flawless and I would recommend him highly to anyone. I can only hope to do business with him again
