I offered a trade deal + cash for an older Weatherby. It had been hunted with based on pictures & I only asked if the rifling was good, & if the stock was cut down. I was told the rifling was good & stock wasn't cut.
When rifle arrived I unwrapped & inspected it. The rifling was terrible, large chunks missing & active rust spots visible with the eye. I messaged right away & got a hostile response that in the less than 2 hours since delivery I must have caused the damage.
I asked to reverse the trade & eventually agreed but only if I paid for all the shipping which was essentially blackmail as the rifle was only good for parts so I had no choice.
I sent a shipping label to get my rifle back & was lied to that it was dropped off & only after follow ups did it get dropped off several days later.
I have proof to back up everything for anyone interested.
