A Crosman Rarity  Most surviving Mark I pistols from 1966–1967 have no serial number and a lever cap. Most pistols from 1968–1971 have a serial number but the push-button cap. Having both the serial number on the receiver and the factory lever cap puts yours in a highly prized sweet spot for collectors.

Because it’s sitting right on the cusp of the 1968 factory changes, it represents the exact moment Crosman was transitioning its assembly lines. You have the early 1966–1967 mechanical features (the cast Fairport frame layout and that machined lever-action piercing cap) combined with the newly implemented serialized tracking system.

It is incredibly rare for these components to exist on the exact same gun without one or the other having been changed out during a service over the last sixty years. It is an absolute museum piece of a Mark I.
