Long Branch C No. 7 .22 Rifle Transit Chest

an original WWII-era Canadian military transit chest manufactured at the famous Long Branch Arsenal in Ontario. This specific model was used to house and transport the C No. 7 Mk. I .22 caliber training rifle.

I was given this a couple decades ago. It’s been kept in cool dry storage its entire life. The chest is structurally solid and intact. The interior features the original wooden stabilization blocks, barrel cradles, and retaining hardware. The outside has been repainted olive green and shows some typical scuffs from age and storage. However, the original stenciling is still partially visible on the side: "CHEST - RIFLE - 22 IN - LONG BRANCH"
