Rifle stock blank

Ungrooved stock blank, it's lying around in my shop since so long I don't remember what kind of wood it was. I think it's some basic grade walnut but I'm not 100% sure, all I can say it's no wood you can easily dent with a fingernail. Overall length is 32in. and drop is 1.25in.
