Antique revolvers almost never make it to 130 years old while remaining in unfired condition, but this one has. Specifically the condition of this Colt 1889's mechanics, bore, and original shiny nickel and nitre blue surface finish are like it has never been fired.

The original surface finish retains 98% of nickel and beautiful nitre blue on the trigger and back of hammer, unlike others that have been refinished. The checkered walnut grips with rampaging Colt inset medallions complement the nickel and blue beautifully, and perfectly match the US Aviator shoulder holster that I'll include in asking price.

The barrel is a post-1926 replacement meaning the diameter is upgraded to .386 to match modern .41 Long Colt bullets instead of the .406-.408 bore that all original pre-1898 barrels have from the times when the .41 Long Colt round was still heeled. Have you ever shot a .41 Long Colt round in an Antique and it wobbled, tumbled, lost intertia and hardly penetrated? That's because you're shooting a .386 projectile in a .406-.408 barrel. This period-applied barrel upgrade completely eliminates that problem, resulting in what would be an extremely accurate revolver though I never fired it personally because I didn't want to disturb the incredibly sharp and mint-shape barrel.

Mechanics are tight. It has reliable function in single and double action, with crisp hammer clicks, smooth cylinder crane operation and ejector, and a strong mainspring. The only evidence of visual wear I can see on this revolver are: some dings on the butt end of the walnut grips, some minor nickel loss on the butt and around one screw on the right side, a slight marring of a screwhead on the right side, and a gouge on the barrel near the words "COLT D. A. 41", likely from someone trying to adjust it

The serial is 7887 which places manufacture in 1890. Assembly numbers all match 999 from original factory fitting that used numbered batches of parts from 1 to 999 to ensure fitment was high quality.

Buy with confidence - I don't like drama so I offer a 3-day non-firing inspection period after delivery for money back guarantee if your item is not as expected.
