ANTIQUE (no PAL) "Black Beauty" Numbers-Matching Smith & Wesson New Model No. 3 Single Action w. Target Sights - .44 S&W Russian

Parting with my extremely scarce condition Smith & Wesson New Model 3 Single Action, mint-like and fully numbers matching, chambered in .44 Russian with adjustable target sights. Frame dates prior to 1898, though final assembly occurred in the early 1900s from existing frame stock - confirmed antique per FRT, one of the most modern antiques attainable. No PAL or registration required for anyone 18+. A .44 Russian speed loader is included at the asking price.

Mechanics: Action is flawless throughout. Barrel measures 6 1/4" with strong rifling, showing only trace frecklings of wear. Single action only, hammer running crisply through all positions, cylinder indexing and lockup both tight and precise. Top-break latch releases smoothly, ejector actuates with no hesitation. Adjustable target sights are fitted and function exactly as intended.

Visuals: Excellent condition, retaining 98% of the original deep blueing on the frame and cylinder, with case-hardening colors preserved on the hammer and a bright, electric blue on top latch, & contrasting in-the-white finish on the screw heads, ejector disc, trigger guard pins, and cylinder spur. Original brown hard rubber grips carry the interlaced S&W monogram, strong with wear on the high points and a couple minor dings. Barrel address reads "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS. U.S.A.," with the iconic S&W emblem stamped strong on the right frame. Serial 32XXX appears on the butt and cylinder face, all stampings crisp and legible.

History: The New Model No. 3 was Smith & Wesson's flagship large-frame single action target revolver, prized for accuracy and its clean top-break design. Frames like this one, stamped pre-1898 but assembled from remaining stock into the early 1900s, still carry genuine antique status, making clean, late-assembled examples like this hard to find.
