Original French Le Protector by Jacques Turbiaux. In surprisingly good condition both functionally and cosmetically. 6mm center-fire.

The design caught the attention of American entrepreneurs. In 1883, Turbiaux sold the American patent rights.

This led to the creation of the Chicago Firearms Company, which manufactured and marketed the weapon in the United States as The Chicago Protector Palm Pistol. The American versions are easily distinguished by their internal mechanisms adapted for rimfire and their distinct visual branding.

Today, original French Le Protector pistols by Jacques Turbiaux are highly prized, historically significant pieces for collectors of mechanical oddities and antique firearms.
