Winchester 1892 Lever Action in .38 WCF (.38-40) Mfd. 1906

price drop from 1450 Feb 13 Parting with my collectible model Winchester in 1892 with 24" barrel. If all you want for Christmas is a classic lever gun in .38-40 Winchester, this ol' gal is for you. The lever action mechanism is smooth and sleek but I have never taken her out to the range so time to pass her on to someone who will get a bit more appreciation out of her. She's chambered in .38-40 AKA .38 WCF which is a classic round that has stood up well against the test of time. Can work in 50 rounds of assorted .38 WCF rounds if you have a PAL. Condition is overall nice with a consistent steely grey patina over the surface which is clean and relatively smooth with only scattered inactive pitting from decades ago. The wood is in overall strong condition with beautiful hues and a few old dings as shown. There is an old hole in the butt stock where I guess a sling mount was once attached. She has an adjustable graduated rear sight. Integral tube magazine holds 9 rounds. The 24" barrel shows strong rifling interrupted by spots of pitting.

Top of the barrel is stamped ''MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. / NEW HAVEN CONN. U. S. A. PATENTED OCTOBER 14 1884". Behind the hammer it is stamped "MODEL 1892 / WINCHESTER / TRADE MARK". The serial 282xxx dates to 1905 manufacture date. She's still in pretty nice shape for a classic rifle that's 120 years young.
