For sale is a rare variant of the Chinese Type 56 SKS. This rifle features the elusive Triple Triangle arsenal stamp, a factory mark that remains largely a mystery in collector circles and is seldom seen on the market.

Rifles from this arsenal notably omit the standard 'Type 56' Chinese character stamps and military acceptance stamps (stock cartouches). This 'sanitization' has led collectors to speculate that they were purpose built for clandestine contract builds, specifically marked for discrete distribution to foreign states within the region to maintain plausible deniability.

Unique Serial & Dating:

This specimen is one of the few known to utilize a month-prefix serial system. The serial number 2-1404370 identifies this as a February 1970 production.

Key Features & Condition:

• High Build Quality: This is a "pre-transition" style build featuring a milled trigger guard and a threaded barrel much like the Russian and very early Chinese production (these highly preferred over the later, cheaper pinned/pressed barrels and stamped steel trigger guards).

• All Matching Numbers: Serial 04370 is consistent across the receiver, bolt, bolt carrier, magazine, trigger guard, and stock.

• Bore: Chrome-lined with a mirror finish. The rifling is sharp and crisp.

• Preservation: This rifle is in "surplus" condition. It still retains original cosmoline in the crevices and has not been fired by the current owner. It will need to be cleaned.

• Stock: The original wood is solid but shows some "closet dings" and handling marks consistent with its age and storage history.
