LEE SPEED RIFLE (BSA Circa 1915)
The Lee Speed rifle was the commercial equivalent of the Lee Enfield Mk 1 rifle. Intended primarily for civilian match-shooters
It was essentially the Lee-Enfield in a civilian configuration, designed for target shooting and hunting, and was sometimes referred to as the commercial equivalent of the Lee Enfield Mk-1
The term 'Lee Speed' rifle comes from BSA and LSA arms built for the commercial market. Patents were held by James Paris Lee (bolt and mag) and by Joseph Speed ...

In 1892, just a few years after the British military adopted the Lee-Metford rifle, the BSA and LSA factories began offering several configurations on the civilian/commercial market.

Lee Speeds were built by BSA and LSA 1890 - 1914. After that the patent expired and was no longer marked on the rifle
