Selling a beautiful Winchester Model 70 Pre-64 manufactured in 1956, chambered in the classic .30-06 Springfield.
This rifle falls into Series III production, within the peak years of Pre-64 Model 70 manufacturing.
Controlled round feed action with the Mauser-style claw extractor and three-position safety — the configuration that made the Model 70 famous as “The Rifleman’s Rifle.”
The rifle is in very good condition for its age.
The original walnut stock shows a nice patina with a few honest hunting marks.
Bluing remains strong overall with some light wear in a few areas consistent with normal use.
Bore is clean and bright.
The rifle still retains its original factory iron sights.
