Beautiful Mauser 98 sporter built by Burgsmüller H. & Söhne in West Germany probably in the 1960's. The action is an older military Mauser 98 (Weimar eagles) that was fitted with a custom built featherweight barrel chambered in .243 Winchester. This rifle is incredibly accurate. It should be noted that Burgsmüller' produced custom and high quality double rifles and shotguns in the early 20th century for the luxury market. The build quality is apparent in this rifle and I've only ever seen one other like it.

I bought it with the intention of hunting with it but after one season I felt the rifle was far too nice to get scratched up. It mostly just sits in the safe now. The build is of incredible quality. The stock has hand cut checkering and it feels amazing to hold. Has a 24" barrel with open sights. Trigger is nice and crisp, a pleasure to shoot. Has the military style flag safety and the bolt is very smooth. This rifle drives tacks

Has a 3-9x Bushnell Banner 2 mounted on it.
