Remington Sportsman 78 (Remington 700) .270 Rifle WOODSTOCK GUN SHOW

NO TRADES. Remington Sportsman 78 was the no frills budget option of the Remington 700 in the mid 1980’s. Similar to the Winchester “Ranger” version of model 70. - hardwood stock, no magazine floor plate, less polished metal finish. After retooling for the 78, gunsmiths were finding receiver tolerances better than some model 700’s being produced. Factory sights on this one. 22 inch barrel has an excellent bore. Rifle shoots and functions A1. Exterior metal shows normal light hunting wear at edges - bolt handle ball, muzzle and along the barrel. Stock is plain hardwood with no checkering. No cracks in the wood. Factory Remington buttplate. Rifle comes with see through scope mounts. I can switch those out for regular Weaver bases if you would prefer.
