Pre WWII 1937 Mauser S42 K98 98K Portuguese Contract 8mm

Here is a great condition Mauser 98k built before WWII to fulfill Portuguese contract. Mauser S42 code on the receiver. It’s one of the 50,000 pieces remaining standard 98k configuration before Mauser altered sling attachment for the rest of the order. The wood stock is solid hardwood, not the later laminate stock. Weimar eagle on the receiver and barrel while NAZI eagle on the right side of the stock still visible. Left side of the buttstock stamped with Portuguese crest and 1937, a possible rack number underneath. Most of the parts are matching include bolt, stock, trigger guard etc. Some small parts mismatched like buttplate, floor plate and follower, rear sight ladder, guard screw etc. Both metal and wood are in very good condition, most of the blue finish still remaining, no rust or pitting found. Wood has no crack or other major damage. I haven’t shot it but the action works as it should. Bore is still shinning and with sharp rifling. See all details in Flicker album.
