Francis Bacon patent double barrel bolt action shotgun. 12 gauge. Don’t know for sure, but I think it is a 2 1/2 inch chamber. Damascus barrels, so black powder is required. Barrels measure 27 inches to breech face and 32 inches all the way to the back. 14.5 inch LOP from the front trigger. Fine engraving throughout. Decent cut of wood on it. I have not fired it, although it appears to be operational. Bottom ejection. There are a number of marks in the stock. Not sure if they are scratches or breakes that have been repaired. Additional pictures available on request. Overall good to very good condition, considering the age. It looks clunky, but it’s actually quite slick in the hands. Shoulders very nicely, does not feel awkward like some other weird guns are.

Francis Bacon patented to this gun in the late 1860s. It was produced from 1871 to 1875. English gun maker. I believe John Rigby and Westley Richards were responsible for some of the manufacturing. I cannot find them marked on this particular example. Pictures of the proof marks are included. This is a very rare item for a very serious firearms collector. Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions. This is a rare chance to own something special! This is only a brief description of the history of the gun. Please feel free to do your own research.

PAL required for purchase. Shipping available. No trades please.

By age, this is considered antique. But due to the fact that it uses 12 gauge, which is a commonly produced modern cartridge, it is a PAL required item.
