Antique Status J W Tolley ! 8 gauge !

Chambered for a 8 Bore 4 1/2" "Magnum"  Shell,  usually loaded with 3.5-4OZ loads 

This Gun Was designed for Smokeless loads But Was never proofed For that As it was Probably In Canada From a Early age And Canada Did not require the same proofing As Europe .  

J. & W. Tolley was an English gunmaker of some notoriety, mostly noted for large bore waterfowlers..  Tolley guns became known for their quality with their appointment as gunmakers to the King of Portugal and to the Persian Royal family.  These are not casual appointments, and the quality can be seen in their guns from the London address after 1894.

This shotgun Was made in 1895  And Is verified by the 1887-1896 Proof marks  also the location On where It was produced  And with Other SN#'s 

Comes with FRT printout Confirming Antique Classification In Canada 

Below is the RCMP classification For Shotguns .  And Yes being more than 20mm is fine under the Antique laws .  Lots of big shops including Ellwoodepps Have Large bore shotguns listed As Antique And Are Exempt from Current Regulations

Barrels are True fluid Steel With Perfect bore Again Confirming it as a Nitro Gun . They made lots of Damascus guns But they Where fazed out and Not used in the nitro age .

Gun is a missive and Almost comical Shotgun  and at  18 Pounds It would Take one heck of a Person To Shoot this thing
