Made in Japan Electro Dot Mark III (aimpoint clone?)

From the 1990s - originally a police trade-in. "Electro Dot" Mark III, though it's been painted over. Made in Japan. With original scope rings. 120 bucks, shipping on you. Very hardy little red dot. i had it on my type 81 and it held zero perfectly. 

I was told this was originally a "Colt" red dot, but cannot confirm this. I know if you google Ruko Electro-Dot mark iii, the images are the same, and ruko was contrcted by Colt, so there may be some truth to it.
