Original lot of 30 British Royal Artillery uniform buttons, all manufactured by J.R. Gaunt, London, one of Britain's best-known military insignia makers and a long-time supplier of buttons and badges to the British Army and Commonwealth forces.

Every button in this lot features the Royal Artillery field gun beneath the King's Crown, dating them to the 1902–1952 period (the reigns of Edward VII through George VI). Following the accession of Queen Elizabeth II, British military insignia transitioned to the Queen's Crown pattern, making these pre-1953 examples.

The Royal Regiment of Artillery was established in 1716, and its distinctive field gun badge has been used in various forms since the late 19th century, becoming one of the British Army's most recognizable regimental emblems.
